Softening

Soften means remove the water hardness due to salts of calcium and magnesium, exchanging them with Sodium salts, which do not falling and do not encrusting. To obtain the exchange the water is passed through a bed of resins, previously loaded with sodium, using as tonic the sodium chloride (common table salt). Culligan, STA’s technology partner, uses specific exchange resins, suitable for contact with food products, which are characterized by high wear resistance, long life, high exchange capacity and low power consumption of salt. For the regeneration it can also be used the Potassium chloride.
